Rahman was born in Madras, India. Rahman’s father RK Shekhar was a film-score musician and conductor for Tamil and Malayalam films, Rahman supported his father’s keyboard-playing studio.
When Rahman was nine years old after his father’s death, his father’s musical instrument rental provided financially to his family. His mother, Karema (born Kasturi) had to work to support his family, due to which he got regular Miss Classes and he had to face the examination, Principal Mrs. YGP summoned him. Rahman’s initial music training
